As young people, we have all been affected by colourism and society’s obsession with fair skin, further fueled by the lack of representation and diversity in the media. I chose to create posters with portraits in diverse colour palettes, encouraging inclusivity and young girls to feel confident in their skin. The newspaper cutout font is symbolic of the lack of media representation - as if all the advertisement text is cut out and put together in defiance, in the form of empowering quotes.
